Traditionally this beautifully evocative painting by Edvard Munch has been known as The Vampyr. It suggests the bite of The Vampyr on the un/willing victim. Being neither willing or unwilling victim, I know that this painting was actually titled by Munch, Love and Pain, and suggests the necessary eternal passions as they revolve around human beings in a relationship. The love side is strong and so is the pain of that love. As a beautiful aside, you could read the text to Baudelaire's poem The Vampyr and see more of the same...
