Tai Tip Mein is the Elephant's greatest Noodle Bar. Home to all nations and all comers, black, white, grey and purple! ...and cheap!! Long may it reign over any incoming eatery, diner, brasserie or deli. In these times of economic crisis, the Tai Tip Mein's random lettering remains a beacon for those who believe in the urban imagination and its power to not have to believe in 'The Economy'. To those who believe in the poetry of the everyday. To those who enjoy something affecting, emotional and enjoyable about these kind of local markers. Curse on all those who would evoke 'the powers that be'. There are no powers that be. There is only us.
